Description
Alloy steel pipe is a kind of seamless steel pipe, its performance is much higher than the general seamless steel pipe, because this steel pipe inside containing Cr, high temperature resistance, low temperature, corrosion-resistant performance of other non-pipe joints not match, so the more extensive use of alloy tube in the petroleum, aerospace, chemical, electric power, boiler, military, and other industries.
ASTM A213 is a standard specification for seamless ferritic and austenitic alloy-steel boilers, superheaters, and heat-exchanger tubes. This specification covers minimum wall thickness, seamless ferritic and austenitic steel, boiler and superheater tubes and austenitic steel heat-exchanger tubes, designated Grades T5, T9, T11, T12, T22, T91, and TP304H, TP310H, TP316H, TP321H, TP347H, and TP348H. The tubes shall be made by the seamless process and shall be either hot-finished or cold-finished, as specified. Heat treatment shall be done separately and in addition to heating for hot forming. The ferritic alloy and ferritic stainless steels shall be reheated. On the other hand, austenitic stainless steel tubes shall be furnished in the heat-treated condition. Alternatively, immediately after hot forming, while the temperature of the tubes is not less than the minimum solution treatment temperature, tubes may be individually quenched in water or rapidly cooled by other means. Tension test, hardness test, flattening test, and hydrostatic test shall be required to conform to the specified requirements.
