Description

Elite Piping Manufacture Co., Ltd
Butt welded Reducer

A reducer is a kind of pipe fitting used in process piping that reduces the pipe size from a larger bore to a smaller bore (inner diameter). A reducer allows for a change in pipe size to meet the hydraulic flow requirements of the system or to adapt to existing piping of a different size. The length of the reduction is usually equal to the average of the larger and smaller pipe diameters.

Butt-welded reducers are typically made from the same material as the pipes they are connecting, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, or other alloys. They are fabricated using a butt-welding process, which involves heating the edges of the pipes to be joined and fusing them together using pressure and heat. This creates a strong and permanent bond between the pipes and the reducer.

Butt-welded reducers are available in two types: concentric and eccentric. A concentric reducer has a symmetrical shape, with the centerline of the larger and smaller pipes meeting at the same point, while an eccentric reducer has an off-center shape, with the centerline of the larger and smaller pipes meeting at different points.

Butt-welded reducers are commonly used in a wide range of industries, including oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation, and water treatment. They are also used in plumbing and HVAC systems in residential and commercial buildings, where the layout and size of the pipes require different sizes of fittings to be connected.
